Why Asda jobs are worth considering in 2026
The 2026 pay award came in two steps: a rise to £12.71 outside the M25 and £13.93 inside it from 1 April, followed by £13.10 and £14.35 from 5 July. Asda said around 110,000 hourly-paid colleagues in Asda stores and Asda Express received the increase.
The business also covers a wide range of store formats, from supercentres and superstores to Asda Express convenience stores, petrol filling stations and online. The type of job and the shift pattern vary by format, so it is worth comparing nearby stores.

Anúncios
Asda does not publish a single minimum age for store roles, so read each advert carefully. Every applicant needs the right to work in the UK, and successful candidates complete pre-employment checks before starting.
How to apply for Asda jobs step by step

- Search the Asda jobs page by job title and location, choosing a distance from 5 to 50 miles.
- Open the advert and check the store or depot, the contracted hours and the shift times.
- Apply online, upload your CV and complete all the details requested.
- Record a short video interview if the role asks for one; the clips are only a few minutes long.
- Complete the online assessment if it is part of the role.
- Wait for an update, which Asda says to expect within 10 days.

Asda pay in 2026
These are the hourly rates for store colleagues reported when Asda announced its 2026 pay award on 24 March 2026. The earlier rates had been set in October 2025.
| Store location | Until March 2026 | From 1 April 2026 | From 5 July 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Outside the M25 | £12.60 | £12.71 | £13.10 |
| Inside the M25 | £13.82 | £13.93 | £14.35 |
Warehouse and driving roles are paid on separate rates, and Asda negotiates with the GMB, URTU and Unite unions for hourly paid colleagues in its distribution and logistics business. Each advert shows the rate for that role.
Benefits Asda lists for colleagues
Asda’s rewards page lists 15% off at Asda stores, including groceries and George, all year round, plus 10% off Asda pet insurance, tyres and travel insurance and 20% off Asda Mobile bundles. There is a pension that both you and Asda pay into, and life assurance.
For health, colleagues get a free 24/7 online GP service for themselves, their partner and children, eight free physiotherapy sessions a year and free eye tests at Asda opticians. Asda also offers the option to stream earned pay and a cycle to work scheme.
Where Asda is hiring
Store vacancies are advertised for individual supercentres, superstores, supermarkets and Express stores, so searching by postcode is the quickest way to find roles nearby. The logistics network has two hubs and two deconsolidation centres serving 26 depots across the UK, which is where most warehouse and HGV vacancies appear.
Home shopping roles are linked to stores that send out online orders. Asda’s annual report says it makes around 716,000 online order deliveries a week with a home shopping fleet of 3,140 vans.
CV and interview tips
Asda asks for a CV, so make sure yours lists your availability, any customer service or warehouse experience and, for driving roles, your licence type and points. Keep it short and specific.
The interview focuses on Asda’s values and the key skills for the role. Prepare examples of helping a customer, working as part of a team and handling a busy shift, and practise the video interview beforehand as Asda suggests.
Common mistakes when applying
People often leave parts of the application incomplete, skip the video interview or apply for warehouse roles before turning 18. Delays also happen when supporting documents are not sent quickly after an offer, which Asda says can hold up the contract.
How to spot fake Asda job offers
Genuine Asda vacancies are listed on asda.jobs and applications go through Asda’s own online system. Be cautious of messages on WhatsApp, Telegram or social media offering an Asda job without an application or interview.
No genuine Asda recruiter will ask you to pay for a job, training or uniform. If something feels wrong, search for the role on the official careers site and do not share bank details until you have a real offer through Asda’s process.
