FedEx Jobs in Canada 2026: Courier and Package Handler Roles and How to Apply

October 22, 2026

FedEx jobs in Canada in 2026 are mostly package handler and courier positions at stations, sort centres and airport ramps. On October 22, 2026, FedEx’s careers site listed 431 openings in Canada, and every one of them named Federal Express Corporation Canada as the company. Listings change daily, so the number will be different when you check.

FedEx Canada’s About page, checked on October 22, 2026, lists 13,335 team members at FedEx Express Canada, a head office on Explorer Drive in Mississauga, Ontario, and hub facilities in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal. The page does not say when those figures were last updated. FedEx’s fiscal 2026 annual report on Form 10-K counts 96 sorting and distribution centres in Canada supporting its surface (ground) operations at May 31, 2026.

Applying is free and is done online on FedEx’s official careers site, which can be filtered to Canada. Use the button below to see the current openings by province, city and job type.

Which FedEx companies hire in Canada

FedEx Ground and Federal Express were merged into a single company on June 1, 2024, according to the fiscal 2026 10-K. In Canada, every listing on the careers site on October 22, 2026 named Federal Express Corporation Canada, from package handler and courier to ramp handler and customs roles.

The About page also lists FedEx Ground Canada (more than 3,500 team members), FedEx Logistics Canada (553 in seven offices) and FedEx Supply Chain (2,153 in six distribution centres). These figures are undated, and the careers site shows different ones, so treat them as a rough guide.

Not every delivery route is run by FedEx employees. The 10-K says that under Network 2.0, which FedEx completed in Canada in the quarter ended May 31, 2025, service providers handle pickup and delivery in some locations and employee couriers in others. FedEx describes these service providers as independent businesses that employ their own drivers, so a driving job with one of them is a job with that business, not with FedEx.

Requirements for FedEx jobs in Canada

Package handler postings ask applicants to lift 70 pounds and to manoeuvre packages of up to 150 pounds with equipment, and most prefer a high school diploma or GED. Some package handler listings, including ones in Cambridge, Ontario, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Lethbridge, Alberta, state “No experience required”.

Courier postings require a valid driver’s licence, a good driving record and a passing result on a pre-placement driver assessment, and most prefer a year of customer service experience. All 71 Seasonal Courier listings gave the minimum experience as none. FedEx’s standard posting text adds that driving roles need a licence such as Class 5, G or 1 (AZ) and two or fewer violations or accidents in the 24 months before you apply.

Language matters in Quebec. The standard posting text says Quebec residents must be bilingual in French and English, although some Montreal-area package handler listings ask for either language. Ramp handlers complete ground support equipment, belt loader and dangerous goods training, renewed every year.

How to apply for FedEx jobs step by step

  1. Open careers.fedex.com with the button on this page; the link is already filtered to Canada.
  2. Narrow the results by category, province or city, or switch the site to Français (Canada).
  3. Open a listing and read the employment type, shift times, posting dates and any pay rate under Additional Details.
  4. Click Apply and complete the online application with your work history, education and licences.
  5. For driving roles, have your licence and driver’s abstract ready, since both are reviewed.
  6. Check your email and phone over the following days for an interview or assessment invitation.

Many listings stay open for about a week. A customer representative listing in Owen Sound, Ontario, ran from October 22 to October 29, 2026, and some seasonal courier listings say applications are reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis.

The FedEx hiring process in Canada

FedEx’s Hiring and Development page sets out five general steps that differ by job: find a role, apply online, interview where required, receive an offer that includes compensation and benefits, and complete onboarding with on-the-job training.

On October 22, 2026, 223 of the 431 Canadian listings said “This is an interview position”, including courier, ramp handler and customer representative roles. Driving candidates are also assessed on their driver’s abstract and on driver competency tests. Some maintenance postings note that ramp placements depend on a security background assessment covering five years of history.

FedEx pay in Canada: rates posted on listings

FedEx does not publish a single pay scale for Canada. Many listings show an hourly rate, which depends on the role, the location and the employment type. These rates were posted on specific listings checked on October 22, 2026; always confirm the rate on the listing itself.

Role Location Hourly rate posted
Seasonal Package Handler Non-Driver Windsor and London, Ontario $20.86
Package Handler/Non-Driver Richmond and Vancouver, British Columbia $21.50
Package Handler/Non-Driver, part time Saanichton, British Columbia $21.75
Customer Rep-Station, part time Owen Sound, Ontario $22.44
Casual Courier Fredericton, New Brunswick $23.28
Ramp Handler, part time Goffs, Nova Scotia $23.28
Seasonal Courier Toronto, Ontario $24.00
Casual Courier Edmonton, Alberta $24.00
CTV Class AZ driver, full time Mirabel, Quebec $26.00

Rates can differ within one area: two full-time courier listings near Montreal showed $23.28 in Montreal-Est and $22.60 in Saint-Laurent. Shift length varies too. A seasonal handler shift in Windsor runs from 6:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., so weekly hours matter as much as the rate.

Seasonal, casual and part-time FedEx jobs

Seasonal work made up a large share of the October listings: 163 of the 431 job titles included the word “seasonal”, and many described contracts of up to 12 weeks for the holiday peak. The fiscal 2026 10-K says FedEx regularly seeks to hire a large number of part-time and seasonal workers in its stations and hubs.

Casual roles work differently. FedEx’s package handler page says casual handlers work when they are available, with shifts usually published weekly, and are generally not eligible for benefits. A casual courier listing in Fredericton asks for at least four shifts a month.

FedEx benefits and training in Canada

The Hiring and Development page says FedEx covers tuition of up to $5,250 a year for people in the U.S. or Canada working toward a college degree or attending a trade, vocational or technical school, with no lifetime maximum. Other benefits are set out in the job offer.

A seasonal handler listing in Calgary states that it is a casual position without benefits, so check the employment type before you apply. After orientation, employees can use the FedEx Learning Center, which FedEx says has more than 25,000 online courses.

Where FedEx is hiring in Canada

Ontario had the most FedEx openings on October 22, 2026, followed by British Columbia, Quebec and Alberta. There were no listings in the territories that day.

Province Openings on October 22, 2026
Ontario 147
British Columbia 88
Quebec 76
Alberta 48
Nova Scotia 23
Saskatchewan 18
New Brunswick 14
Manitoba 11
Newfoundland and Labrador 4
Prince Edward Island 2

Resume and interview tips for FedEx Canada

Keep your resume short and match it to the listing. For handler roles, show physical or warehouse work and the shifts you can cover, since many sorts start early: a Dartmouth listing starts at 1:30 a.m., and a Saanichton listing warns that public transit may not run at its 3 a.m. start. For courier roles, put your licence class and driving record near the top.

In the interview, expect questions about safety, reliability and customers. FedEx calls its safety philosophy “Safety Above All”, so a short example of following a procedure or reporting a hazard works well. If you speak French and English, say so.

How to spot fake FedEx job offers

Genuine FedEx openings in Canada are listed on careers.fedex.com, and you never have to pay to apply, to train or to receive equipment. A real offer comes after you apply on the official site and, for many roles, after an interview.

Be cautious with messages that offer a FedEx job you never applied for, ask for banking details or gift cards, or come from a personal email address. If you cannot find the same listing on the official careers site, do not send any documents.
